For many years Tony has pursued Education and professional experiences that lay the groundwork for him to make a meaningful and substantial contribution to the people of Uganda and the greater global community at large.
Tony holds a B.A in Social and Philosophical Studies-MUK, an M.A in Conflict Management and International Relations from the Alice Salomon Hochschule, Berlin Germany www.ash-berlin.eu and is currently following his Doctoral Studies in Global Peace and Security at the University of Leipzig-Germany, at the Global and European Studies Institute (GESI) in partnership with the Institute for Security Studies, Addis Ababa. http://www.uni-leipzig.de/~ral/gchuman/en/units/graduate-school-global-and-area-studies/global-and-area-studies-peace-and-security-in-africa/the-phd-programme/
From 2004 to 2007 at the helm of the Northern Uganda Civil War, led by war lord Joseph Kony, Tony was living in Gulu Uganda. This was an extremely challenging yet transformative time in Tony’s life. As a witness to the horrific effects of war and conflict, Tony’s outlook on life began to expand, change, grow and develop. The daily onslaught of war and the constant sight of homeless children and mothers walking long journeys in search of basic necessities like food left a lasting impression on Tony and served as a catalyst for his commitment and dedication to issues he cares about deeply. It was during this time in Tony’s life that he decided to himself to Uganda and neighboring Rwanda to building a better future for its people.
He engaged to serving his community through Caritas, as well as starting up a center for Children to help transform their lives into better adults. To him, it is education that gives hope to those kept most on the margins of life. His experiences in Geneva-Switzerland, Sydney-Australia, Shenzhen-China, Linz-Austria and New York-USA, helped him harness his belief that the young people are the future of the world, but this is only realized through education, and more so empowering the girl child at all fronts.
His vision is that someday, all women, girls and boys will have access to quality education, healthcare, skills, knowledge and self-confidence and that this will facilitate self-sustainability and lasting peace.
